Ching Li Chai-Coetzer

Presentation: COMISA – the Current State of Play 
Discuss current clinical practice and barriers for management of COMISA from the perspective of a sleep physician, and finish with an overview of the gaps in existing research and potential areas to be addressed in future clinical trials.  

Dr. Ching Li Chai-Coetzer is a Respiratory and Sleep Physician and Clinical Lead of the Sleep Health Service at Flinders Medical Centre, and Associate Professor in Sleep Medicine at Flinders University, Adelaide, South Australia. Her research expertise is in sleep medicine clinical trials, with a focus on limited-channel sleep study testing, community-based health service delivery models for OSA and insomnia, and optimising OSA treatment. She previously developed and validated the OSA50 screening tool for identification of patients at high risk for OSA in general practice and conducted the world’s first RCT of a simplified, primary care-led management model for OSA involving GPs and practice nurses.  Her work aims to improve the knowledge and involvement of primary healthcare professionals in sleep disorders management and improve patient access to sleep health services.
