About

The Virtual Sleep Congress

The eSleep Europe Virtual Congress organised by the European Sleep Research Society will hold its second edition in 2025. Building on the success of our 2023 event, this upcoming congress will be again an exclusive online event. We know your time and travel resources are limited and want to offer an accessible meeting where the decision to participate is not complicated. The vision for this virtual sleep congress is to allow global participation and to provide the opportunity for ESRS to spotlight the achievements of Europeans.

In 2023, the first eSleep Europe was honoured with the Event Transformation Award at the European Association Awards, a recognition of its innovative design and its impact on advancing global collaboration in sleep science. Read more about our award-winning achievement here.

As we look forward to eSleep Europe 2025, our mission is to continue uniting the global sleep science community to share groundbreaking research, and clinical advancements, and foster meaningful connections.

Staying Healthy While Staying Virtual

Even in the context of a virtual congress such as eSleep Europe 2025, prioritising both physical and mental well-being is essential for a productive and enriching experience. Here are some practical tips to help you stay energised and focused throughout the event:

Optimise Your Workspace

  • Create a comfortable and ergonomic setup to reduce physical strain during long sessions. Ensure your chair, desk, and screen are adjusted to support good posture.
  • Minimise distractions by finding a quiet, well-lit space where you can focus on the congress sessions without interruptions.

Move Your Body

  • Set a timer to remind yourself to stand, stretch, or walk every 30–60 minutes. Even small movements can help prevent fatigue and keep your energy levels steady.
  • Between sessions, try light exercises such as yoga, simple stretches, or a quick walk around your space to refresh your body and mind.
  • If possible, use a standing desk or alternate between sitting and standing to promote better posture and circulation.

Fuel Your Energy

  • Plan your meals and snacks ahead of time to avoid unhealthy choices during congress days. Keep nutritious options like fresh fruits, vegetables, and nuts within reach.
  • Opt for balanced, light meals that provide sustained energy and avoid heavy foods that could leave you feeling sluggish.

Stay Refreshed

  • Keep a water bottle nearby during each session to remind yourself to stay hydrated throughout the day.
  • Avoid overconsuming caffeine and sugary drinks, which can cause dehydration and energy crashes. Instead, choose water, herbal teas, or fresh juices to stay alert and hydrated.

Engage and Connect

  • Actively participate in networking opportunities to share ideas, ask questions, and build valuable connections with others in the field.
  • Reach out to colleagues for virtual coffee chats or informal discussions to maintain personal connections and build collaborations between events.
