The multidisciplinary seminar has become in recent years a moment of sharing that involves the top Italian experts in the management and treatment of narcolepsy and that brings together in parallel the members of the Italian Association of Narcoleptics and Hypersomni (A.I.N. – onlus), thus favouring in a concrete way, the synergy and the comparison between patients, sleep experts and other health professionals.
This annual event has been placed at the centre of Italian needs the creation of an Italian network for narcolepsy; an initiative that has received the favourable opinion of the specialized centres that deal with this pathology in pediatric and adult settings.
This year the seminar aims to address different clinical issues with multidisciplinary repercussions and to present the novelties emerging from basic research.
In this context, the progress of the national registry ReN&IS Icilio Ceretelli will be discussed, a tool that lays the foundations for a national collaborative network, the importance of establishing modern biobanks (such as the one at IRCCS ISNB) and the status of the newly established Italian network for narcolepsy (Italian Narcolepsy Network).
