Sleep and Motor Memory Lab - University of Utah

We use the motor system as a model to study the plasticity processes associated with learning and memory. The goal of our research is to modulate the neurophysiological processes supporting motor learning and sleep-related motor memory consolidation in order to optimize motor behavior in healthy populations. We investigate whether experimental interventions such as the manipulation of prior knowledge, stress, brain or sensory stimulation can modulate the sleep-related consolidation process.
