Hans-Peter Landolt is Professor of Pharmacology and Toxicology at the University of Zurich (UZH) and Research Director in Human Sleep Psychopharmacology at the Institute of Pharmacology and Toxicology of UZH. He holds a PhD in natural sciences (ETH Zurich) and completed postdoctoral fellowships in human psychopharmacology at UZH (1996-1997) and the University of California in San Diego (1998-2000). His research combines and integrates methods of specific pharmacology, neurophysiology, human genetics, molecular brain imaging and neurocognitive testing, to investigate the roles for neuromodulators, receptors and transporters in regulating sleep-associated brain functions in health and disease.
Hans-Peter is the initiator and former Chair of the University Center of Competence, Sleep & Health Zurich, the past Co-Director of the Clinical Research Priority Program Sleep & Health at UZH, and a current Board Member of the Swiss Society of Sleep Research, Sleep Medicine and Chronobiology. He published more than 100 peer-reviewed papers, reviews, and book chapters on sleep and the pre-clinical human pharmacology of sleep.
