Surrey Sleep Research Centre, Universities of Surrey (UK)Julie Seibt is a Senior Lecturer (Assistant Professor) at the Surrey Sleep Research Centre, University of Surrey (UK). She earned a PhD in Developmental Neurobiology from the University Claude Bernard in Lyon, France, in 2005. She then completed postdoctoral research at the University of Pennsylvania and Charité-Universitätsmedizin Berlin, where she investigated the mechanisms linking sleep to brain plasticity.
Her current research explores these mechanisms using a range of techniques, including in vivo calcium imaging, post-transcriptional omics approaches, and behavioural manipulations in rodent models. Her work has been supported by funding from the EU (Marie Curie International Reintegration Grants) and the UK (Wellcome Trust Seed Award in Science, Leverhulme Trust Research Grant).
