Nayantara Santhi obtained a PhD in Experimental Psychology from Northeastern University in Boston. Following this she did a post-doctoral fellowship, with Professor Charles Czeisler and Dr. Jeanne Duffy at the Division of Sleep Medicine, Harvard Medical School, during which she worked on examining the role of sleep and circadian rhythms in cognition and how light influences human circadian rhythms. She then joined the Surrey Sleep Research Centre as a Research Fellow and since October 2019 has been a faculty in the Department of Psychology at Northumbria University in the UK.
She now focuses on examining the social brain through the lens of sleep and circadian regulation and continues to study the non-visual photoreception.
