Prof. Dr. Tarja Saaresranta

Tarja Saaresranta is Chief Specialist at the Dept of Pulmonary Diseases, Coordinating Director of the Sleep and Breathing Centre of Turku University Hospital, and Professor of Pulmonary Diseases at the University of Turku (UTU), Finland. She obtained her pulmonologist degree in 1993 (UTU), PhD degree in 2000 (UTU), and Special Competence in Sleep Medicine in 2001. In 2002-3, she worked as a Research Associate in the Sleep, Circadian Rhythms and Neuroendocrinology Laboratory at the University of Chicago. Her research focuses on SDB. Her group has participated in the ESADA since 2007 and EU Horizon 2020 Project Sleep Revolution. She has authored more than 160 articles or book chapters and supervised several PhD thesis. In the Finnish Sleep Research Society, she has served as a treasurer, Vice President, and President (altogether 9 years). She is Chair of the Finnish Task Force Adult OSA. She has served as an MC Member of the EBAP, and is a member of the ESRS Task Force BPAP therapy in OSA.
