eSleep Europe 2023 ESRS Joint Session with EAN (Neurology)

For this Sleep Science Friday publication, we are delighted to have Dr. Evelina Pajediene, Co-chair of the European Academy of Neurology (EAN) Scientific panel for Sleep-wake disorders, and Dr. Giuseppe Plazzi, the Assistant Secretary of the European Sleep Research Society (ESRS), introducing the ESRS – EAN joint session, that will take place in the morning of the 3rd day of the eSleep Europe 2023 Virtual Congress. The congress will last 3 days, from 4 to 6 October and will be fully online. Interactive clinical cases on sleep disorders

This joint ESRS and EAN session will discuss interactive clinical cases on sleep disorders.

It is our pleasure to announce that a joint session between the European Sleep Research Society and the European Academy of Neurology will be held during the virtual ESRS eSleep Congress 2023, on 4-6 October. The session is scheduled for Friday, 6 October, 10:30-11:30, and will include talks from Stefan Seidel (Austria) on clinical case of Female with numbness and fatigue, Evelina Pajediene (Lithuania) on Nocturnal bumps and jumps – parasomnia or epilepsy, and Luca Baldelli (Italy) on Kicks and punches during sleep in Parkinson’s disease – not always RBD. The session will be co-chaired by Giuseppe Plazzi (Italy) and Evelina Pajediene (Lithuania).

In this interactive session participants will be able to discuss the management of presented clinical cases and increase the knowledge about:

  • Fatigue and sleepiness as leading symptoms of demyelinating and other neurological disorders.
  • Differential diagnosis and treatment pitfalls of nocturnal paroxysms.
  • Non-RBD related events during sleep that could be also suspected and managed in Parkinson’s disease.
