Overview
The Paediatric Sleep subcommittee of the ESRS SMC is pleased to announce the 2nd ESRS Paediatric Sleep School which will be held from 4-9 November 2025 at the beautiful Bertinoro Castle in Italy.
Distinguished group of international paediatric sleep experts will in 4 days cover all aspects of paediatric sleep health from the neurophysiology to the ontogeny of sleep in infants, children and adolescents and will provide best practice in the evaluation and treatment of paediatric sleep disorders. It will offer also hands-on sessions with practical approach to polysomnography, polygraphy and actigraphy procedures in infants, children, and adolescents.

Target Audience
Clinicians, researchers, and trainees in paediatric sleep, including physicians, psychologists, nurses, and sleep technologists.
Please note that participation is limited to 50 individuals and the applications will be evaluated by the organising committee to assure a balanced representation of disciplines.

- Summarise relevant information in paediatric sleep encompassing physiology, ontogeny, and impact of disturbed sleep on child development. .
- Identify and diagnose sleep disorders in infants, children, and adolescents.
- Apply evidence-based treatments for sleep disorders in infants, children, and adolescents.
- Identify challenges and potential avenues for future research in paediatric sleep medicine.

Conditions
In order to participate, you must fulfil the following criteria:
- Be a member of the ESRS at the time of application.
- Be active in sleep research or sleep medicine at the time of application. Have a documented interest in paediatric sleep.
- There is no upper age limit for eligibility, however, preference will be given to candidates who are in the early stages of their career.
- The participation fee is 750 EUR, which includes accommodation, catering for the duration of the entire stay, and access to all educational activities and practical sessions at the Centro Universitario di Bertinoro (A non-refundable deposit of 250 EUR is required upon the applicant’s acceptance, and the remaining 500 EUR five weeks before the start date). Grants are available as detailed below.
Requirements
In order to apply to participate, you must complete the online application form where you’ll be required to upload the following documents:

- Statement of Interest (max. 400 words) detailing: How will attendance at the meeting benefit your career and what learning goals do you pursue? How can you contribute to the learning environment of the Paediatric Sleep School?
A maximum of 50 participants will be accepted for this Paediatric Sleep School.
Funding Opportunity
Candidates who cannot be fully supported by their laboratory or other sources may also apply for a fellowship to support their participation:
- A total of 10 grants, worth 500 EUR, are available to partially cover the registration fee. You can apply for the grant through the application form.
- Funding is open to all nationalities (European and non-European), with priority given to candidates from low-income countries.

Applications are open until 12 May 2025 (23:59 CET) and applicants will be notified of the selection outcome by 30 June 2025.
