The third meeting of the Forum chaired by Myriam Kerkhofs was held in Reykjavik, Iceland in 2002. Sixty five participants of both genders participated in the meeting and enjoyed the excellent presentation of our invited speaker Jenny Hislop, from the Centre for Research on Ageing and Gender, Department of Sociology, University of Surrey, UK. The topic of Jenny’s presentation was “The missing link? Sociological approaches to the study of women’s sleep”. With passion and enthusiasm she introduced us to the sociologist’s methodology and to the social context of women’s sleep. This innovative approach of women’s sleep captivated the audience and raised numerous questions.
