Steps to Apply for the ESRS Examination in Sleep Medicine

1. Enter the examination section of our website
Link in the site header top menu.
2. Check the requirements for your examination and prepare your documents and data.
3. If you are not already an ESRS member, please click "BECOME A MEMBER" and follow the steps for membership.
NOTICE FOR BANK TRANSFER PAYMENTS: If you intend to pay your membership fee by bank transfer, please note that the payment confirmation might take a minimum of three working days. It is only after this confirmation procedure that your membership will be manually activated and that you will be able to access and apply for the examination. Therefore, make sure you become an active ESRS member as soon as possible, reserving enough days before the examination application deadline.
4. Now you should be an ESRS member and are ready to apply. Click "LOGIN" if you're not already logged in.
5. Once logged in, click in "EXAMINATION" or "Sleep Medicine Examination" links.
Use the header top menu link or click the link in your myESRS dashboard.
6. Click one of the "APPLY buttons."
7. On application page 1, first select the "Qualification Sought" then "Next".
8. On application page 2, fill in your "Application Information" then "Next".
The “Name” and “Email” fields will be automatically pre-filled from your membership account. If you want to use a different email address just type in the new one.
9. "Save and Continue Later" your application if you are not yet ready to submit.
You can save and continue your application at a later point (until the application deadline) by scrolling to the end of page 2 and clicking “Save and Continue”.
A unique link will be displayed which you can use to access your saved information. Please save this link in a safe place and we recommend that you email a copy of it to yourself (a prompt will be provided).
This unique link will expire on the application deadline, and no further updates will be able to be made or submitted.
10. On application page 3, provide all "Supporting File Uploads & Legal Consents" only when you are ready to submit your application.
Uploads will not be saved if you intend to use the “Save and Continue” feature, so only upload these files when you are ready to submit the entire application. Otherwise, you will need to re-upload the files before submission.
11. After having filled in all the required information and uploads, please click the "SUBMIT APPLICATION" button.
Two simultaeneous actions will occur:
- You will receive an email with a confirmation and summary of your application details.
- You will be forwarded to the payment page for the non-refundable 90 EUR application fee.

Changes have been made to the requirement of providing a written and signed declaration letter.
Information provided in the application related to your “Sleep Medicine Centre or Sleep Lab” and “Practical Experience” will be sent directly to the professional email of the individual indicated as the Sleep Medicine Centre or Sleep Lab Director upon final submission of your application, to be verified.
It is your responsibility to follow up with this individual ensure they 1. received the email and 2. complete the verification process by 07 February 2026 23:59 CET. Failure to do so will lead to your application being considered as incomplete and not being evaluated.
Verification entails reviewing the application information provided, declaring it as accurate, and providing their signature and any additional comment.
