About the Online Application: Requirements

Who can apply ?

Applications open 01 December 2025 for the 15th Sleep Medicine Examination for Somnologist Certification (physicians, psychologists, sleep scientists and physician assistants) and the 13th Sleep Medicine Examination for Somnologist-Technologist Certification (sleep technologists and nurses). Please check the requirements below.

Dear Applicant,

Thank you very much for your interest in the ESRS Sleep Medicine Examination.

Before you start, please read the following steps carefully!

  • You have to become an ESRS member before you start the application process. Please keep in mind, that f you purchase your membership plan by bank transfer, there is a gap of some days between your registration as an ESRS member and the activation of your ESRS account (due to the required manual verification of the transferred funds).

  • Select your a certification below (Somnologist or Somnologist-Technologist) based on your speciality to check if you fulfill all examination requirements.

  • Only after registering as an ESRS member, you may get access to the examination application form to proceed with your online application.

  • While completing your application, you can use the "Save and Continue Later" feature to return to the form later and finish your application. Once you submit your application, no further edits can be made.

After having submitted your application, you can come back to your personal application form as often as you like during the application period. Feel free to change your personal data and upload new or additional files.
