Dr. Athanasios Kaditis

Keynote Lecture:
Challenges in the Diagnosis and Management of Obstructive Sleep Apnea Syndrome in Children

Athanasios Kaditis is Associate Professor of Pediatrics and Pediatric Pulmonology at First Department of Pediatrics, University of Athens School of Medicine and Agia Sofia Children’s Hospital in Athens, Greece and Head of the Division of Pediatric Pulmonology and Sleep Disorders Laboratory.  He completed his pediatric residency training at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota (USA) and his pediatric pulmonology subspecialty training at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (USA). Dr. Kaditis is American Board of Pediatrics certified in General Pediatrics and in Pediatric Pulmonology. 

He has a special clinical and research interest in the care of children with chronic lung disease and sleep-disordered breathing. He was chair of a European Respiratory Society Task Force preparing two statements on the diagnosis and management of obstructive sleep apnea in childhood. Dr. Kaditis is first or senior author or co-author in 121 PubMed-listed publications. He is Associate Editor for “Pediatric Pulmonology” and Editorial Board Member for “Sleep Medicine” and “Children”.
