Prof. Dr. Kai Spiegelhalder

Kai Spiegelhalder holds a medical degree and a diploma degree in Psychology from the University of Freiburg. He finished his PhD under the supervision of Dieter Riemann at the Department of Psychiatry and Psychotherapy, University of Freiburg Medical Centre, in 2008. Thereafter, he worked as a research group leader and deputy head of the Department of Psychophysiology and Sleep Medicine at the University of Freiburg Medical Centre. Since 2018, he is an extraordinary professor for psychology at the University of Freiburg. His present research is focused on studying the aetiology and treatment of insomnia.
