||Rosa Peraita-Adrados, MD, PhD, clinical neurophysiologist and Head of the Sleep Disorders and Epilepsy Unit- Clinical Neurophysiology at the Gregorio Marañón University Hospital and Research Institute Gregorio Marañón, Complutense University of Madrid. Spain.
She was trained in sleep pathology in the Sleep Disorders Clinic, Department of Psychiatry, Stanford University (1975) and in INSERM, Port-Royal Hospital, Paris (1976-77). Epilepsy postdoctoral fellow in the “Centre Saint-Paul”, Aix-Marseille University (1977), and in the Neurological Institute of Montreal (1994).
She has authored articles on the physiology and pathology of sleep and epilepsy, and she has been involved in clinical research projects: Hypersomnias of Central Origin, SIDS, Sleep ontogeny, NFLE, Parasomnias and RLS.
Co-founder of the Spanish Sleep Society (1991) and President (1998-2003). Member of the ESRS (1978) and member of the Scientific Comitee (2002-06). Scientific Secretary of the 14th Congress of the ESRS (Madrid 1998). Co-founder of IPSA. Member of the Editorial Board of the Revista de Neurología and co-director of the International Master online, “Sleep: Physiology and Medicine” since 2005.
Former Member at large and Secretary of the EU-NN Board. Chair of the 4th European Narcolepsy Day in Madrid (2013).
